In the heart of the medina and just minutes from Essaouira’s vast sandy beach, The Moroccan White House is a modern living space adorned with eclectic 1960’s style furnishings and colourful lighting. Moulded around ancient sandstone columns and thuya wood ceilings, this funky four-storey property is built around a traditional courtyard.

Inside

• Style: Cool and contemporary, retro-chic style with a classic Moorish twist. (Please note that the reception rooms are long and narrow.)
• Bedrooms: 4 double bedrooms: 1 on the first-floor with a private shower room adjacent; 2 bedrooms and shared bathroom (with a semi-circular tub) on the second floor (plus a terrace with a hammock); one bedroom with sliding glass doors and private terrace on the top floor (outdoor sink but no bathroom on this floor).
• For relaxation: Sink into the basket-chair, play CDs in the music room, choose a book from the library’s floor-to-ceiling bookshelves or simply snuggle up by the fire in the lounge.
• For recreation: Play board games, watch DVDs or open the door to the heart of the bustling medina.
• Practicalities: The house will be cleaned daily.

Outside

• A spacious terrace on the second floor offers an al fresco dining area under a rustic awning. The third floor bedroom boasts a private terrace with table and chairs.

Food and wine

The Moroccan White House is available on a self-catered basis, with meals available on request.

• DIY: The open plan kitchen/diner is well equipped with utensils and locally made dishware. The property is a one-minute walk from the food souk.
• In-house cuisine: Traditional Moroccan dinner menus are available (min 2 people) from 150 Dirham (approx. £10) per head.
• Eating out: On arrival you will be presented with an information pack detailing a selection of local restaurants – none of which are more than a 15-minute walk from the property.
